Eligibility Criteria for Ayushman Bharat Yojana (PM-JAY)
Ayushman Bharat Yojana is designed to provide health coverage to economically weaker sections of society. The eligibility is primarily based on the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) 2011 data.
Eligibility Criteria in Rural Areas
In rural areas, eligibility is based on the following factors:
- Families with no earning adult member
- Families belonging to SC/ST categories
- Landless laborers
- Marginal farmers
- Manual scavengers
- Families with disabled members
Eligibility Criteria in Urban Areas
In urban areas, the following families are eligible for PM-JAY:
- Street vendors
- Domestic workers
- Rickshaw pullers
- Construction workers
- Small shopkeepers and traders
- Other low-income families

If Your Family Is Not Listed
If your family is not listed in the SECC data, you can approach the authorities to check if you qualify for inclusion. Additional proof may be required to establish eligibility in some cases.
Exclusions from Eligibility
While the scheme aims to cover all economically weaker sections, the following may not be eligible:
- High-income families
- Families with luxury items like cars, air-conditioners, etc.
